System Developer – Historical Database Development Location: Remote Working Method: Mostly Remote Job Type: Consultant Reference Number: 16479 Assignment Period: Immediate – June 30, 2027 Workload: 100% Application Deadline: October 25, 2026 About the Role We are looking for an experienced System Developer to design, develop, and implement a historical database solution for storing, managing, and retrieving financial accounting data from a legacy system. The assignment involves migrating historical data from an IBM AS400 environment to Microsoft SQL Server within an on-premises IT environment. The objective is to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient access to historical financial data for reporting, analysis, auditing, and long-term archiving. The solution should provide secure data storage, permission-controlled access, and a user-friendly web interface with efficient search functionality.

It should support the retrieval of historical accounting records, including invoices, accounting transactions, bank statements, and financial reports. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement a historical database solution. Migrate and transform data from IBM AS400 to Microsoft SQL Server. Develop database structures that support efficient storage and retrieval of large volumes of historical data.

Implement secure, permission-controlled access to sensitive financial information. Develop a web-based interface with effective search and data retrieval functionality. Ensure data integrity, accessibility, and reliable long-term data storage. Prepare technical documentation and system descriptions to support future maintenance.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver an effective technical solution. Required Qualifications Extensive experience with IBM AS400 systems and data migration to Microsoft SQL Server. Extensive experience designing and implementing databases for historical data archiving. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and database development.

Experience developing solutions for efficient searching and retrieval of large datasets. Experience implementing access controls and user-friendly web interfaces. Ability to document technical solutions clearly and comprehensively. Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Good written and spoken Swedish and English. Relevant IT certifications or equivalent documented experience in database and web development.
