About us

Explore Group runs logistics, materials and land businesses across the Texas Gulf Coast and Permian Basin, including trucking operations, frac sand plants, pipelines, and proprietary technology suites to complement Our Businesses. We build a lot of our tech in-house, and we need more hands.

You’ll report to Walt Niblock, Engineering Manager, and work across our software, field systems and internal IT. You’ll touch everything, but you’ll own a few projects start to finish.

What you’ll do

• Field systems: help integrate and troubleshoot truck scales, indicators, cameras and check-in hardware at our pipelines, terminals, aggregate plants and loadout sites
• Data & Software: write SQL against our Postgres databases, clean operational data and build reports on loads, weights and throughput. Software: build features and fix bugs in Equator TMS, our React-based platform for dispatch, driver check-in, scale tickets and BOLs
• IT & infrastructure: support devices, accounts, networking, DNS and cloud tools across the company
• Development & Implementation: Assist in the development and field implementation of Our proprietary technologies & softwares

What we’re looking for

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Has built something real in JavaScript/React, Python or SQL (class projects count if you can show them)
• Comfortable going from writing code to standing in a scale house figuring out why a device won’t talk to the network
• Figures things out without needing step-by-step instructions
• Valid driver’s license, with occasional travel to field sites
