System Engineer

We are looking for a Systems Engineer 3 to support the design, integration, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of machine-based data collection systems and advanced safety and automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience with networking, systems integration, machine testing, CAN tools, Linux, sensor calibration, and Python-based test automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support machine-based data collection systems and connectivity solutions across various equipment and operating environments.
• Plan and execute system integration, validation, and field-testing activities for advanced safety, automation, and machine technologies.
• Install, calibrate, configure, and troubleshoot cameras, radar, LiDAR, GPS, and data acquisition hardware.
• Perform data collection, validation, analysis, and quality assurance to ensure accurate and reliable system performance.
• Independently plan and execute test activities, including developing test procedures, validation plans, and test reports.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, CAN communication, and machine integration issues in laboratory and field environments.
• Use CAN tools, Linux OS, and Python scripting to support diagnostics, testing, data processing, and test automation.
• Support camera, radar, and LiDAR calibration and validation activities.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, technical reports, test procedures, and validation documentation.
• Collaborate with global software, systems, controls, validation, and product support teams to deliver robust and reliable solutions.
• Support proving ground, customer site, and machine testing activities, including occasional domestic and international travel.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on test processes, data quality, system connectivity, and overall system performance.
• Support machine operation, robotics, and autonomy-related testing activities as required.
• Clearly communicate technical issues, test results, and recommendations to engineering teams and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant systems engineering, testing, validation, or integration experience.
• Strong knowledge of networking and systems design.
• Experience independently planning and executing testing activities.
• Experience with CAN tools and communication systems.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Hands-on experience with camera, radar, and/or LiDAR calibration and validation.
• Experience with Python scripting and test automation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine operation and testing.
• Exposure to robotics, autonomous systems, or advanced machine technologies.
• Experience working with hardware, electronic systems, processors, circuit boards, and computer systems.
• Experience with system-level software development lifecycle, requirements analysis, testing, and delivery.
• Previous experience supporting laboratory, proving ground, or customer-site testing.
