NHS Organisation | £410 per day (Umbrella) | Inside IR35 | Contract until 31 March 2027

Venn Group is supporting an NHS organisation with the recruitment of an experienced Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team on a long-term contract basis.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a complex and mission-critical healthcare environment, supporting the technology infrastructure that underpins frontline and corporate NHS services. Combining both BAU support and project delivery, you will act as a technical specialist, providing third-line support, leading on infrastructure initiatives, and ensuring the stability, resilience and performance of key systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert third-line infrastructure support, taking ownership of incidents through to successful resolution.
• Configure, manage and troubleshoot VMware virtualisation environments.
• Support the deployment, administration and ongoing lifecycle management of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9).
• Administer and maintain Nutanix infrastructure and associated technologies.
• Implement and support hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, availability and overall system health.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations and transformation projects.
• Undertake root-cause analysis and implement preventative measures to improve service resilience.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Work collaboratively with IT colleagues and stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery across the organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware virtualisation technologies.
• Proven experience supporting and administering VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 9).
• Practical Nutanix administration experience and knowledge of hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of virtualisation, storage technologies and infrastructure networking.
• Experience delivering infrastructure upgrades, migrations and resilience improvements.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within enterprise environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively and deliver against agreed objectives.
