Systems Engineer

About the Role
We’re looking for a Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain technical solutions for our clients and internal teams. You’ll translate business and customer requirements into working system designs, own projects from scoping through delivery, and keep configurations and documentation accurate and consistent. This role suits someone who is both technically strong and comfortable working directly with clients and cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do

• Act as the technical link between clients, sales, project managers, and engineering to define project requirements.
• Review client requirements and specifications; identify constraints, risks, and technical assumptions early.
• Design, build, and administer server, network, and cloud infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure).
• Plan and execute cloud migrations and system upgrades.
• Standardize system configurations and maintain accurate configuration records and change history.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, including designs, requirements logs, and client-facing materials.
• Support pre-sales and proposal work with technical input, effort estimates, and risk assessment.
• Take ownership of projects and issues end to end, following change control best practices.
• Take part in peer reviews and occasional after-hours maintenance windows.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in a systems engineering or infrastructure role (MSP experience is a plus).
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware).
• Solid networking fundamentals (VLANs, VPNs, DNS/DHCP, routing).
• Experience with Azure or AWS.
• Working knowledge of security best practices, including MFA.
• Experience gathering requirements and maintaining documentation and configuration records.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with clients.
• Ability to work independently on a remote team.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Pay: $97,500.00 - $118,000.00 per year
