System Engineer - L2

About the role

IXS Commercial Inc. is seeking a System Engineer - L2 to join our growing technology team in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining, supporting, and optimising our network and systems infrastructure. As a Level 2 System Engineer, you will be responsible for managing complex technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting support, and ensuring the stability and performance of our IT systems. This role bridges the gap between frontline support and senior engineering teams, making it essential to our operational success and business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and resolve complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 support teams, providing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Monitor network and system performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks and optimisation opportunities
• Configure, deploy, and maintain servers, network devices, and infrastructure components across the organisation
• Perform system updates, patches, and security hardening activities according to established schedules and change management procedures
• Document technical procedures, configurations, and solutions to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
• Collaborate with Level 1 support teams to diagnose and resolve network and systems issues efficiently
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades to support business growth
• Support incident management processes and contribute to post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences
• Maintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and asset inventory
• Provide technical support during system implementations and technology migrations

What we're looking for

• 2-3 years of experience in systems administration or network administration within an enterprise or multi-site environment
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols
• Proficiency with virtualisation technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V
• Experience with active directory management, group policies, and user account administration
• Knowledge of storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery concepts
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Associate, or CCNA are highly desirable
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management skills
• Familiarity with IT service management practices and ticketing systems
• Must have valid certificate and atleast involved in 3 to 5 project implementation.
