System Engineer (Managed Services)

Our client is seeking a System Engineer to join their team.The ideal candidate will have strong technical escalation ownership, a security-first mindset, and a drive to improve operational excellence which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: System Engineer (Managed Services)

Location: Hunt Valley, Maryland (looking for candidates in the WDC - Baltimore Area)

Pay Range:$75,000 - $90,000 W2 (Salary) What's the Job?

• Serve as a senior technical escalation point and subject matter expert for complex client issues across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, VMware, Windows Server, and Active Directory environments.
• Own patching and Intune strategy, including configuration, enforcement, and continual improvement to keep client environments operating efficiently.
• Define, maintain, and enforce internal security and configuration baselines within M365/Intune, ensuring client alignment to best practices.
• Lead advanced technical troubleshooting and provide technical leadership for projects as needed, while staying current on Microsoft features and updates.
• Facilitate integrations between core management and operational systems for the Co-managed Services Team, and standardize operations through SOPs, technical documentation, and knowledge articles.

What's Needed?

• Extensive experience administering and troubleshooting Azure, Entra ID, Intune, VMware, Windows Server, and M365 environments.
• Demonstrable experience with MSP-style tools and platforms such as Ninja, Halo, and documentation platforms (and similar tools).
• Proven ability to lead escalations and deliver advanced technical troubleshooting for complex infrastructure and identity environments.
• Experience overseeing technical staff in day-to-day operations and escalations, ensuring consistent quality and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of patching, configuration management, and operational baselines, including the ability to create project plans and present ideas to senior team members or leadership.
