System Engineer (Public Sector)

Our client is a major statutory body and transport operator in Hong Kong. They are seeking an experienced Contract System Engineer to support scalable cloud computing, endpoint modernization, and enterprise communication platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage and validate inter-relationships between PBX users in same or different sites and to evaluate corresponding MS Teams features and dependencies for different users;
• Complete telephone number migration via Microsoft Teams Enterprise voice;
• Drive and deliver migration project according to project schedule and user needs on the Microsoft Teams platform;
• Collaborate and troubleshoot with technical teammates for issue solution implementation;
• Perform on-going support through Microsoft Office 365 Admin Center for MS Teams administration;
• Work with Microsoft support and telephone service provider on support cases.
• Monitor and provide regular update of MS Teams Phone user count, usage and provide health quality reports
• Support the delivery of large-scale transformation initiatives, including Windows upgrades, and endpoint modernization projects across the organization.
• Work closely with Helpdesk, support teams, vendors, and business users to track deployment progress and resolve deployment issues.
• Act as Second-Line (L2) support to in-house applications for engineering department at a 7x24 on-call basis to handle critical system failures or emergency incidents.
• Maintain project trackers, deployment records, and status reports, providing accurate progress updates and supporting project governance to ensure successful delivery of endpoint modernization initiatives.

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma in computer science, Information Technologyor related field
• 1 to 3 years of experience in IT support, desktop support, IT project coordination, or system administration.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in Office 365 / M365 portal administration.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, IT infrastructure, and end-user computing environments.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
