System Engineer – Video Platform Operations

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated System Engineer to join our team and support the daily operations of our end-to-end Video Platform infrastructure. This position is 100% onsite and requires a proactive, technically skilled engineer who ensures the health, performance, and availability of critical systems including Origin, Packager, Encoder, CDN, Middleware, and other related services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor traffic and service availability across the Video Platform.
• Investigate and troubleshoot system issues promptly.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare daily/weekly system performance reports to ensure high availability and assist in capacity planning.
• Open and manage escalation tickets with Tier-2 support, ensuring detailed issue documentation and tracking.
• Maintain and perform routine checks on Linux-based servers (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Monitor and fine-tune application performance using tools like Zabbix.
• Support and maintain caching and streaming components such as Nginx, Varnish, and Packagers.
• Assist in configuring and automating repetitive tasks via Shell or Python scripting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow operational procedures to ensure SLA compliance.

About you

• Strong hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Proficient in Shell Script and Python.
• Experience with Nginx, Varnish, and Zabbix monitoring.
• Solid understanding of HTTP/S, streaming protocols, and how CDN works.
• Familiarity with Ansible for infrastructure automation and deployment.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration and escalation.
• Strong documentation skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience supporting video streaming platforms or CDN operations (preferred).
• Familiarity with video encoding workflows and monitoring tools (preferred).
