System Engineering Specialist

Must have Active Security Clearance

Tasks:

• IT support, design and troubleshooting ranging from large Server, SAN farms to complex platforms;
• Configuration/Troubleshooting of Virtual environments: VMware vSphere, vSAN, Horizon;
• Server management, Operating System (OS) knowledge (UNIX, Linux, Windows);
• Design, implementation and administration of backup and restore solutions like VEEAM and StoreOnce;
• Administration of servers, bladesystems and composable infrastructure;
• Administration of Storage systems on traditional SAN, CEPH and VSAN;
• Managing OCP platform in DEVOPS mode with related supporting systems like Red Hat Service Mesh, GitHub, Helm, GitOps, Ansible Automation Platform, Kafka;
• Development, execution and troubleshooting of Ansible and Powershell scripts;
• PKI and certificate administrations;
• Administration of monitoring systems like Nagios, Splunk;
• Administration of Oracle infrastructure, namely EXADATA and ZDLRA;
• Administration of mail servers and mail relays (postfix), anti-virus and anti-spam;
• Centralized deployment of software and updates.

Additional Tasks:

• Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow integrations with internal and external systems using REST, SOAP, JDBC, and other protocols;
• Create and optimize custom scripts (JavaScript, Glide API, Script Includes) to automate workflows, enhance UI functionality, and improve platform performance;
• Configure and manage data imports/exports, ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance;
• Build reusable components such as Flow Designer subflows and UI policies to accelerate future development;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions within ServiceNow;
• Conduct system and integration testing using the Automated Test Framework (ATF) to ensure reliability and scalability;
• Monitor platform health, usage, and compliance, proactively identifying and resolving issues;
• Work will include customisations and integrations of the following modules: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, etc.

Education Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after secondary school.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge and experience with HW management, racking, cabling, replacement, FW upgrades;
• HW/SW inventory and configuration management;
• Advanced knowledge and experience with VMware (vSphere, vSAN, Horizon);
• Knowledge and experience with managing Oracle HW;
• Knowledge and advanced experience in Red Hat, Windows OS administration of large farms;
• Active Directory (AD) / LDAP and Keycloak Management;
• Network Attached Storage (NAS) and distributed file systems;
• Centralized IT security policy management;
• Knowledge and experience in administration of servers, bladesystems and composable infrastructure.

Security Requirement:

SECRET EU/EU SECRET

Security Requirement Description:

The profile owner shall possess a Personnel Security Clearance for accessing EU Classified Information, at least for level EU SECRET.

In case the person does not possess such clearance, then a fresh criminal record certificate (not older than 30 days from the signature of the Specific Contract) of the chosen candidate should be provided, together with written proof that the security clearance process was initiated (up to level EU SECRET), and a copy of their national ID document or Passport, prior to starting the work.

Declaration of confidentiality and protection of information system and of non-conflict of interest document will be signed by the selected person at latest at the starting date (preferably to be submitted together with the criminal record and the copy of national ID document).
