JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for Development review and inspection, Backflow Prevention Program oversight and Grease Trap Program oversight.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of map reading (Training provided).
• Knowledge of the application of backflow prevention devices (Training provided).
• Knowledge of the Industrial Pretreatment Program in regard to the proper use of grease traps (Training provided).
• Skill in using water pipeline location equipment (Training provided).
• Skill in testing backflow prevention devices (Training provided).
• Skill in the use of computer software (Training provided).
• Ability to maintain orderly records (Training provided).
• Ability to work with the public in a professional manner.
• Capable of being self-initiating and self-managing.
• Ability to communicate with water and sewer customers through written correspondence.
• Ability to communicate well.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School or GED
• One year of prior experience in a water or sewer utility.
• This position is subject to call-in and overtime work.
• Must be able to obtain Georgia certification in distribution and collection systems operations.
• Must be able to obtain backflow prevention device certification.
• Must already possess or obtain National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) 100 and 700 within three (3) months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license from state of residency..
