New Directions Technologies, Inc. (NDTI) is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD).

In this role, you will help protect Navy information systems by guiding systems through the RMF lifecycle and ensuring cybersecurity requirements are properly implemented, assessed, documented, and maintained. You will work directly with system administrators, network engineers, application teams, cybersecurity professionals, and Government stakeholders to identify security requirements, evaluate system compliance, resolve findings, and maintain accurate authorization packages in eMASS.

This is a hands-on cybersecurity role for someone who understands that successful RMF is more than documentation. You will help connect technical cybersecurity work—such as STIGs, vulnerability scanning, security controls, remediation, and testing—to the evidence and documentation required to demonstrate that Navy systems are operating at an acceptable level of risk.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate cybersecurity documentation and supporting evidence before submission or incorporation into eMASS.

• Maintain accurate security control implementation statements, assessment results, artifacts, POA&Ms, and other required RMF documentation.

• Support vulnerability management and reporting activities using Navy and DoD cybersecurity systems and tools such as eMASS, VRAM, ACAS, STIG Viewer, and related compliance and assessment tools.

• Evaluate technical and non-technical security safeguards to help Government cybersecurity and Authorizing Official stakeholders understand system risk and make informed authorization decisions.

• Support authorization and assessment activities, including preparation for cybersecurity reviews, assessments, validation events, and authorization decisions.

• Track cybersecurity findings through resolution and help ensure identified vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and documentation requirements receive appropriate ownership and follow-through.

• Assist with continuous monitoring activities to ensure systems maintain their cybersecurity posture after authorization and remain aligned with applicable Navy and DoD requirements.

• Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready cybersecurity records and communicate RMF status, risks, findings, and required actions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.

Associate Degree from accredited University or CNSSI 4011 Certificate or successful completion of military training course: CIN J-3B-0440 (IP BASIC) (or DOD Service equivalent)

A CompTIA Security + (CE) certification is required.

Validated 1-3 years specialized entry level experience in Specialty Area 72 (Information Systems Security Management)

As a member of Cybersecurity Workforce individual will need to maintain a minimum of 40 continuing education hours per year.

OJT Evaluation consist of: NAVEDTRA 43462-1C, or NAVEDTRA 43462-2, or NAVEDTRA 43469 watch station 304 or If IP O1-3 or NAVEDTRA 43360-2 or If IP O4-5 or NAVEDTRA 43360-3 and must be completed in directed timelines.

Salary: the expected pay range for this position is $74,880 to $93,600 but is subject to change.
