System Specialist

Job Objective

Responsible for maintaining and improving IT infrastructure operations through automation, monitoring, system administration, and security compliance. The role focuses on reducing manual operations, improving system reliability, and ensuring infrastructure meets operational and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Infrastructure Automation

• Develop automation scripts and solutions using PowerShell and Bash to reduce repetitive manual tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure operations such as patching, system provisioning, housekeeping, and backup validation.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes through automation and standardization.

2. Infrastructure Monitoring

• Maintain and improve infrastructure monitoring using Zabbix and Dynatrace.
• Configure and optimize monitoring alerts to improve accuracy and reduce false or unnecessary alerts.
• Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards to provide clear visibility of system and infrastructure performance.
• Monitor system health and proactively identify potential issues.

3. System Documentation & Configuration Management

• Create and maintain SOPs, Runbooks, configuration guides, and infrastructure diagrams.
• Maintain accurate asset inventory and CMDB information.
• Ensure system configurations and operational procedures are properly documented and up to date.

4. Security & Compliance

• Support patch compliance, system hardening, and security remediation activities.
• Support infrastructure-related requirements for ISO 27001 and PDPA compliance.
• Assist with security audits and ensure required documentation and evidence are properly maintained.
• Identify and follow up on infrastructure security risks and vulnerabilities.

5. System Operation & Support

• Provide L1/L2 operational support for infrastructure and system-related issues.
• Perform initial incident triage, troubleshooting, and escalation to the appropriate teams.
• Support server administration and daily infrastructure operations.
• Coordinate with internal IT teams and vendors to resolve incidents and maintain system availability.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Experience in System Administration, Infrastructure, IT Operations, or DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Zabbix, Dynatrace, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of Windows/Linux server administration.
• Understanding of patch management, system hardening, backup, and security remediation.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 and PDPA is an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional IT teams and handle operational incidents.
