System Test Engineer

Project Overview

The project is a Network Management System (NMS) built on distributed microservices and deployed on AWS/RKE2 Kubernetes. The system supports multi-vendor EMS/NEOPS/NE integration and FCAPS management.

Responsibilities

• Perform gray-box and exploratory testing in a complex system environment with limited documentation and no predefined requirements.
• Independently explore system behavior, understand the architecture, and design realistic end-to-end test scenarios.
• Trace, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis across frontend, backend, databases, Kafka, plugins, and infrastructure.
• Configure network simulators to validate FCAPS workflows, including network topology, configuration management, alarm handling, and performance data collection.
• Perform integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure system stability and reliability.
• Monitor system resource utilization and investigate potential performance bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and independent investigation skills.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, SNMP (v1/v2/v3), OID/MIB, REST API, SSH, and Kafka .
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Python/Bash scripting, Kubernetes, containers, and microservices troubleshooting .
• Ability to investigate logs, trace data flows, inspect databases, and debug unfamiliar services.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and monitoring tools such as Grafana and ELK.
• Experience with NMS/Telecom OSS, FCAPS, EMS/NE is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Apache NiFi, Java, Python, AWS, RKE2, Cassandra, and Redis is a plus.
• Experience in performance/load testing and resource monitoring is preferred.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• A QA Engineer with strong system-level testing and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Able to work independently, explore unfamiliar systems, and investigate issues across multiple system layers.
• Experience in telecom or network management systems is a plus.
