Position Summary

Digital Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on, and detail-oriented System Test Technician to support the testing, integration, troubleshooting, and modification of hardware systems and products. This position will work closely with Systems, Electrical, Software, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to execute test procedures, troubleshoot hardware issues, perform component-level rework, collect and analyze test data, and support product development and validation activities.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with electronic hardware, PCBAs, schematics, bench test equipment, and system-level testing. This individual should be comfortable independently troubleshooting technical issues, identifying root causes of failures, and clearly documenting and communicating test results in a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware system integration, functional, and validation testing in accordance with established test plans and procedures.
  • Follow and accurately execute established test plans, procedures, and engineering instructions.
  • Set up, configure, operate, and maintain test equipment and hardware required for system-level testing.
  • Test and troubleshoot electronic hardware, including power conversion circuits and timing-related circuitry.
  • Execute test procedures and accurately collect, record, organize, and report test data and results.
  • Identify, reproduce, troubleshoot, and document hardware and system-level issues discovered during testing.
  • Perform root-cause troubleshooting of hardware and system failures using schematics, test procedures, and appropriate diagnostic equipment.
  • Clearly document and communicate test results, failure conditions, observations, and identified root causes.
  • Support corrective-action investigations and verify implemented solutions through testing.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics and related engineering documentation.
  • Prepare and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as required to support hardware changes and corrections.
  • Perform component-level rework in accordance with applicable IPC standards.
  • Operate bench test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Support the assembly, configuration, modification, and maintenance of test setups, fixtures, cables, PCBAs, and related equipment.
  • Track identified issues and communicate test status and findings to the appropriate engineering teams.
  • Follow established engineering, quality, ESD, IPC, and safety procedures while performing testing and rework activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, product development, troubleshooting, and release activities.
  • Provide feedback to engineers regarding test procedures, testability, recurring failures, and opportunities to improve testing efficiency.
  • Maintain an organized laboratory and ensure test equipment, tools, and documentation are properly maintained.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in electronics, hardware testing, or system testing.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), schematics, and hardware systems.
  • Proven ability to read and update electrical schematics and prepare Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform component-level rework in accordance with IPC standards.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting power conversion circuits and timing-related circuitry.
  • Extensive hands-on experience using common bench test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and analyzers.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to methodically identify and isolate hardware and system-level failures.
  • Ability to clearly report test results, failure conditions, and root causes of identified issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow and execute established test plans and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a hardware development, electronics manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, or mission-critical systems environment is a plus.
  • Experience supporting engineering teams during product development, system integration, or verification and validation testing is preferred.
