Systems Administrator

Job Summary
Cyber Husky is hiring a Systems Administrator to support IT operations across our client base. This is a full-time, remote position for someone who can take ownership of server administration, Active Directory, endpoints, backups, and infrastructure troubleshooting. Periodic on-site travel to client facilities is required, approximately 1–2 times per month.

Depending on the engagement, you may work within one client’s environment or support multiple clients. You should be comfortable working independently, following change control processes, maintaining thorough documentation, and communicating with both technical teams and client stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, patch, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016–2025), virtual infrastructure, and associated storage.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, user access, and permissions.
• Troubleshoot switches, firewalls, wireless networks, VPNs, and connectivity issues; coordinate with network engineering teams when needed.
• Monitor and validate backups, perform test restores, and maintain disaster recovery documentation.
• Support workstations, thin clients, and other endpoints, including imaging, patching, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Apply security updates during approved change windows and assist with vulnerability remediation.
• Participate in change control processes and follow infrastructure requests through to completion.
• Keep SOPs, network diagrams, asset inventories, configurations, and troubleshooting records up to date.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of systems administration experience in a professional IT environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or Proxmox.
• Understanding of VLANs, VPNs, firewall rules, switch configuration, and other networking fundamentals.
• Experience with Veeam, Azure Backup, or a similar backup and recovery platform.
• Ability to use PowerShell for routine administration and automation.
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage your workload independently with minimal oversight.
• Comfortable traveling to client facilities approximately 1–2 times per month.

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated environments or with standards such as GxP, HIPAA, CMMC, or SOC 2.
• Experience supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing, life sciences, or other industries with formal quality systems.
• Familiarity with formal change management, incident management, or ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
• Microsoft 365 and Entra ID / Azure AD administration experience.
• CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft infrastructure certifications.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
