Systems Administrator

About the Role

PNJ Technology Partners, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Systems Administrator to help maintain, secure, and optimize IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience managing computer systems, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining network services, and supporting reliable day-to-day technology operations.

In this role, you will help administer servers, manage user accounts, monitor system performance, implement security updates, and support business-critical IT services.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and operating systems.
• Monitor system availability, performance, storage, and resource utilization.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, access controls, and authentication policies.
• Administer Windows Server environments and support Linux systems as needed.
• Maintain directory services, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
• Apply operating system patches, software updates, and security configurations.
• Monitor backups and assist with data recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
• Investigate system outages, performance issues, and recurring technical problems.
• Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and IT procedures.
• Support virtualization platforms, cloud services, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Collaborate with help desk staff, network administrators, and other technical teams.
• Follow cybersecurity policies and established IT change-management procedures.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Windows Server administration and desktop operating systems.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and directory services.
• Familiarity with system monitoring, backups, patch management, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of endpoint security, access controls, and system hardening.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document technical procedures and communicate clearly with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and Active Directory.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with scripting tools such as PowerShell or Python.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft, CompTIA Server+, or other infrastructure credentials.

Compensation and Benefits

• Suggested annual salary: $75,000–$100,000, subject to employer confirmation.
