Systems and Network Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join our IT team and support the design, implementation, administration and maintenance of the organisation's network and systems infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS and DHCP.
• Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Monitor network and systems performance and investigate infrastructure incidents.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft 365 and Microsoft cloud services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, security controls, and access policies.
• Support virtualisation environments including VMware and/or Hyper-V.
• Implement and maintain network security, backup, and disaster-recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and systems issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and configuration records.
• Liaise with vendors and service providers regarding infrastructure and technical issues.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
• Relevant professional experience in network and systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based technologies.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an IT team.
