SUMMARY: POSITION INFO: An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive, customer-focused Support Engineer to join a growing technical team based in Cape Town. This is an on-site role within a fast-paced Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment, supporting a diverse customer base across desktop and server environments. Key Responsibilities Provide 1st & 2nd line remote and on-site technical support Troubleshoot and resolve incidents identified by monitoring tools Perform root cause analysis and identify automation opportunities Monitor system capacity, stability and performance Implement system changes, upgrades and migrations Provide proactive support and value-added solutions Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams Attend client sites when required for support and SLA engagements Participate in rotational standby and occasional after-hours support Skills & Experience 3+ years’ experience in an IT MSP environment Strong Windows desktop support experience Intermediate Windows Server experience Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, File & Print Endpoint and server patch management experience Basic firewall/UTM administration Understanding of IP addressing, subnetting and routing Strong communication, documentation and reporting skills Knowledge of ITIL-aligned service management Advantageous Certifications Microsoft certifications are highly advantageous, particularly: MD-102 / Modern Desktop Administrator MS-102 / Microsoft 365 Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Microsoft Teams Administration VMware VCP-DCV Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) The Ideal Candidate You’ll be proactive, organised and customer-focused, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
