Systems Engineer - Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance / Endpoint Security Engineer (GCC)

For our client, we are seeking a Systems Engineer - Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance / Endpoint Security Engineer (GCC) to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will drive security governance, compliance, and endpoint protection across a Microsoft 365 environment supporting mission-critical operations. The engineer will partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen policy enforcement, improve threat detection, and close security and compliance gaps across multiple platforms. This position also plays a key role in aligning technical controls with federal standards and supporting audit readiness.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead security governance and policy implementation for Microsoft 365 aligned to federal standards
• Enforce data protection capabilities and manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) using Microsoft Purview
• Define and enforce email security policies to prevent data breaches
• Engineer Conditional Access policies, ensuring device compliance across platforms
• Design and deploy Intune policies for Windows, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, addressing compliance gaps
• Conduct risk assessment and mitigation for the Microsoft 365 ecosystem regarding security threats
• Oversee the operational management of Microsoft Defender and Sentinel for threat detection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, or 12+ years of experience without a degree
• U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain a Public Trust level 5 clearance is required
• Profound experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, Endpoint, and Cloud Apps
• Hands-on proficiency with Sentinel SIEM and telemetry pipelines
• Expertise in Intune engineering across Windows, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS
• Advanced PowerShell skills for automation and remediation tasks
• Strong understanding of compliance mapping and audit support
