Systems Engineer / Project Engineer (Genetec | CCTV | Access Control)

About the role

We are seeking a technically competent and hands-on Systems Engineer / Project Engineer to support the design, deployment, configuration, integration and commissioning of Integrated Security Management Systems (ISMS). The successful candidate will be involved in implementing enterprise-level security solutions comprising Genetec Security Center, IP CCTV surveillance systems, Access Control Systems (ACS), servers, storage and network infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and reviewing ISMS architecture covering CCTV, access control, servers, storage, network switches and associated infrastructure.
• Develop and review physical and logical network diagrams, system architecture drawings and connectivity requirements.
• Evaluate hardware and software compatibility, system sizing, licensing and integration requirements.
• Plan server, storage and network infrastructure requirements based on system capacity, performance and redundancy.
• Conduct technical site surveys to identify installation requirements, equipment locations and connectivity arrangements.
• Install, configure, commission and troubleshoot Genetec Security Center and its associated components.
• Configure and manage Genetec video surveillance functions (Omnicast) and access control functions (Synergis).
• Deploy and configure IP CCTV cameras, video recording servers, storage systems and associated equipment.
• Coordinate the deployment and configuration of network infrastructure supporting CCTV and access control systems.
• Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including system architecture and network diagrams, equipment connectivity schedules, IP addressing and equipment inventories, installation and configuration records, testing and commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and system operation and maintenance documentation.

About you

• Strong technical knowledge of electronic security systems, particularly Genetec.
• Practical experience in IP networking, system architecture, equipment installation and system integration.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VLANs, IP addressing, routing, PoE, network switches and fibre optic connectivity.
• Experience with CCTV and access control systems deployment and configuration.
• Ability to prepare and execute testing and commissioning procedures, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
