Systems Migration Engineer

Key Responsibilities

 End-to-End Migration: Lead the parallel upgrade and side-by-side migration of legacy on-premises servers

to modern operating systems within a highly available VMware environment.

 Infrastructure Virtualization: Manage, optimize, and provision resources within the VMware vSphere/ESXi

infrastructure to support the newly migrated workloads.

 Role-Specific Upgrades: Plan and execute zero-to-minimal downtime migrations for specialized server

roles, ensuring all configurations, permissions, and dependencies are seamlessly transferred.

 Testing and Validation: Perform pre- and post-migration checks, validate application and service

functionality, and confirm system stability, performance, access, and security settings before production

cutover.

 Patch and Lifecycle Management: Plan and implement approved Windows Server and VMware

ESXi/vCenter patches and updates during the migration activities; validate updates in staging where

available and coordinate deployment windows to minimize disruption.

 Performance and Capacity Optimization: Monitor Windows and VMware resource utilization, review CPU,

memory, storage, and capacity trends, and recommend virtual machine right-sizing and resource-allocation

improvements.

 PowerShell Automation: Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to streamline routine administration,

configuration checks, patching tasks, and system health reporting.

 Documentation and Change Coordination: Maintain accurate technical documentation, standard

operating procedures, migration plans, rollback steps, and environment diagrams. Coordinate planned

changes and cutovers with relevant technical teams and stakeholders.

Technical Qualifications

 Virtualization Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience configuring, migrating, and managing

workloads in VMware vSphere/ESXi environments.

 Core Windows Infrastructure: Deep administrative experience with Windows Server architecture,

Active Directory, and Group Policy.

 Specialized Workload Migration Experience: Demonstrated ability to execute complex parallel

upgrades for the following specific technologies:

o Remote Desktop Services (RDS) & Gateway Brokers: Migrating session hosts, connection

brokers, licensing, and gateway configurations.

o PKI / Certificate Servers: Experience migrating and upgrading Active Directory Certificate

Services (AD CS), specifically handling a 2-tier or dual Certificate Server architecture.

Windows Administrator – VMware vSphere

o File Servers: Seamlessly migrating large-scale file shares, maintaining DFS namespaces, and

preserving complex NTFS permissions.

o Print Servers: Consolidating and migrating enterprise print management servers and printer

drivers.

o SQL Reporting Services (SSRS): Upgrading and migrating SQL Server Reporting Services

environments.

Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,000,000.00 per year
