Tableau Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Tableau Developer with strong experience in data visualization, dashboard development, data analysis, and SQL. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Tableau dashboards and reports to support business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server/Cloud.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Connect Tableau to various data sources, including relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms.
• Develop calculated fields, parameters, sets, groups, LOD expressions, and table calculations.
• Perform data blending, joins, and data preparation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Optimize dashboard performance, query execution, and workbook efficiency.
• Publish, manage, and maintain Tableau workbooks and data sources.
• Implement user access controls, row-level security, and data governance practices.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions.
• Troubleshoot data discrepancies and provide ongoing support for existing dashboards.

Required Skills

• 35 years of hands-on experience in Tableau development.
• Strong proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud.
• Excellent SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and window functions.
• Strong knowledge of dashboard design, data visualization, and storytelling.
• Experience with calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters, sets, and table calculations.
• Understanding of data modeling, ETL concepts, and data warehousing.
• Experience connecting Tableau to databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or Snowflake.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Tableau Prep.
• Knowledge of Tableau performance optimization and administration.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Python or other data analytics tools.
• Knowledge of Power BI or other BI platforms.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
