Duties and responsibilities

Measurement & Consultation

• Take accurate body measurements (chest, waist, hips, inseam, shoulder, etc.) from clients; record sizes clearly
• Discuss client preferences: fabric, style, fit, design details, occasion, and budget
• Advise on fabric selection, suitability for garment type, durability, and care requirements
• Explain construction options, alterations scope, and provide price quotes & completion timelines

Pattern Making & Cutting

• Draft custom patterns or adjust existing commercial patterns to match measurements and design
• Lay out patterns on fabric efficiently to minimize waste; follow grainlines and nap direction
• Cut fabric, lining, interfacing, and trimmings precisely using shears, rotary cutters, or electric cutters
• Mark notches, darts, pleats, and seam allowances on fabric pieces

Sewing & Assembly

• Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines, sergers/overlockers, and pressing equipment
• Stitch garment components together: seams, darts, zippers, buttons, buttonholes, pockets, collars, cuffs
• Apply linings, interlinings, facings, and decorative details (embroidery, trim, piping)
• Maintain consistent stitch quality, tension, and seam strength; match patterns and stripes/plaid alignments

Fitting & Alterations

• Schedule and conduct fitting sessions; identify fit issues (looseness, tightness, length, balance)
• Pin, mark, and adjust garments; take in, let out, shorten, lengthen, or reshape as needed
• Repair, re-stitch, reinforce, and finish altered garments; press to restore shape
• Common alterations: hem adjustment, waist resizing, sleeve tapering, zipper replacement, mending tears

Finishing & Quality Control

• Press garments at every stage of construction and final pressing; use steam irons and press cloths to avoid shine or fabric damage
• Inspect finished items for loose threads, uneven seams, skipped stitches, or fabric flaws; correct defects
• Ensure garments meet client expectations and match agreed specifications before handover
• Package finished garments neatly and hand over with care instructions

Additional & Specialized Duties

• Custom Garment Creation: Design and sew made-to-measure clothing (dresses, suits, trousers, blouses, formal wear) from scratch
• Repair & Restoration: Mend rips, replace linings, fix hems, replace buttons/zippers, restore vintage garments
• Fabric & Equipment Management: Organize fabric stock, thread, notions, and supplies; maintain inventory and reorder when low
• Machine Maintenance: Clean, oil, and perform basic maintenance on sewing machines; troubleshoot minor issues; arrange repairs when needed
• Record Keeping: Log client details, measurements, work orders, costs, payments, and deadlines
• Compliance: Follow safety practices with sharp tools, hot irons, and machinery; keep workspace clean and hazard-free

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
