Job Purpose Tailor – Job Description Responsible for the repair, alteration, and maintenance of guestroom, uniform, and hotel textile items to ensure they are kept in good condition and meet the hotel’s quality and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform alterations, repairs, and adjustments of uniforms, linens, curtains, upholstery, and other hotel textile items.
• Conduct regular inspection of textiles and identify items requiring repair or replacement.
• Measure and alter uniforms according to employee requirements.
• Repair damaged linens, curtains, bed skirts, cushion covers, and other soft furnishings.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines and tailoring equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all completed repairs meet required quality and appearance standards.
• Maintain proper records of tailoring requests, repairs, and completed items.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Laundry, Uniform, and other departments regarding textile repair requirements.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of sewing materials, threads, buttons, zippers, and other tailoring supplies.
• Practice proper handling, storage, and segregation of hotel textiles to minimize damage and unnecessary replacement costs.
• Comply with hotel safety, hygiene, sustainability, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Executive Housekeeper.
