We are looking for a skilled and dependable Seamstress/Tailor to join our team and help us maintain the high standards of fit, quality, and service our customers expect.

Position Overview

The Seamstress/Tailor will perform alterations on men’s clothing, including suits, sport coats, dress pants, shirts, and formalwear. The ideal candidate has strong sewing skills, an understanding of garment construction, and a commitment to producing precise, high-quality work. This position is well suited for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys working in a friendly, customer-focused retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform alterations on men’s garments, including hemming pants, adjusting waistbands, shortening sleeves, tapering trousers, and modifying jacket fit.
• Complete garment alterations with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Measure customers and assess garments to determine appropriate alterations and fit.
• Pin, mark, and prepare garments for alterations.
• Work with a variety of fabrics, linings, and garment constructions.
• Manage alteration requests and deadlines, particularly during busy wedding and formalwear seasons.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work area.
• Communicate with store staff to ensure alteration requirements are clearly understood and completed on time.
• Provide professional, courteous assistance to customers when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a seamstress, tailor, or alterations specialist preferred.
• Proficiency with sewing machines and standard tailoring equipment.
• Knowledge of garment construction, fitting techniques, and alteration methods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet customer deadlines.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Professional and courteous demeanor with a customer-first mindset.

Experience with men’s suits, sport coats, dress trousers, tuxedos, and wedding-party alterations is especially valuable.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
