We are seeking a talented and passionate Tailor/Master Tailor to join our team remotely. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for creating, altering, and customizing garments to meet high standards of quality and fit. Your expertise will ensure that each piece reflects craftsmanship, precision, and style. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work flexibly from home while delivering exceptional tailoring services to a diverse clientele. Garment alterations are mainly for menswear so expertise in that focus area is important.

Job Overview

The Tailor's primary responsibility is to sew garments, either to repair or to alter to customer's tastes and to operate on sewing equipment. Perform other duties as necessary.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic alterations on garments including, but not limited to, sleeves, chest, backs, sides, collars and bodices, inserting shoulder pads, altering waists, taking out hems to lengthen, shortening lengths, and adding cuffs.
• Do minor repairs to garments by replacing buttons, mending seams, and replacing hem
• Strong knowledge of garment fitting, fabrics, styling, manufacturing techniques, garment construction and men’s suiting.
• Ensure all garments meet high-quality standards, including clean finishes, secure stitching, even seams, and the removal of loose threads and pins.
• Press, steam, and spot clean garments as necessary.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure all garments meet quality standards.
• Excellent time management skills to complete each alteration efficiently within designated timeframes.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Must be located within a reasonable distance from store location.
• Must be willing to pick-up drop-off garments at the store, from time-to-time.

Qualifications and Competencies

• 2+ years of professional tailoring or alterations experience.
• Strong sewing and garment construction skills.
• Experience with menswear required.
• A strong understanding of fit, proportion, and garment construction.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A genuine appreciation for clothing, craftsmanship, and quality.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
