Tailor/Seamstress

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a strong understanding of garment construction. As a Seamstress, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality garments while ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service. This position requires proficiency in sewing techniques and the ability to work with various fabrics and materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate sewing machines and other equipment to construct garments according to specifications.
• Perform alterations and repairs on clothing items, ensuring a perfect fit for customers.
• Collaborate with designers and team members to understand design concepts and production requirements.
• Maintain an organized workspace, keeping tools and materials in order.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding alterations or custom work.
• Utilize basic math skills to measure, cut, and adjust fabric accurately.
• Ensure all finished products meet quality standards before delivery.

Skills

• Proficiency in sewing techniques, including knowledge of various stitches and sewing methods.
• Experience with garment construction, including cutting, fitting, and finishing techniques.
• Familiarity with fashion retail environments is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and understand their needs.
• Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations during the sewing process.
• Ability to operate sewing machines efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $21.25 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
