Job Overview

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and customer-focused Takeaway Assistant to join our team at Mr Chan’s. This role is primarily customer-facing, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service and ensuring every takeaway order is handled with care and attention to detail.

You will play an important role in creating a positive experience for our takeaway customers and ensuring they receive the same high standard of service that we pride ourselves on in the restaurant.

Responsibilities

As a Takeaway Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Greeting and serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Taking orders accurately over the counter and by phone
• Handling payments and operating the till/POS System
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the front of house and takeaway area
• Assisting with stock checks and replenishment as needed
• Following food safety and health & safety guidelines at all times
• Supporting kitchen operations when required

You may also be expected to carry out any other reasonable duties relevant to the role, as directed by management.

Skills

• Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
• Experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to assist with food preparation while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to provide help and support to both customers and colleagues.

Pay: £6.40-£12.21 per hour
