Talent Acquisition Coordinator

About the Role

We are hiring a contract Recruiting Coordinator to support high-volume new-hire processing for 3–6 months. This is a backend operations role focused on moving candidates from offer acceptance through start date: onboarding paperwork, background checks, and drug screen follow-up. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of Talent Acquisition Coordinator experience and can work independently in an ATS and HRIS.

Responsibilities

• Process new hires after offer acceptance, including collecting and reviewing onboarding paperwork for completeness and accuracy
• Initiate, track, and follow up on background checks until cleared or escalated
• Coordinate drug screen scheduling, reminders, and result follow-up with candidates and vendors
• Maintain accurate candidate and new-hire records in the ATS/HRIS and shared trackers
• Send status updates to recruiters, hiring managers, and HR on outstanding items and start-date readiness
• Flag discrepancies, expired documents, or failed screens and route them for resolution
• Support ad hoc TA coordination as needed (scheduling, offer logistics, candidate communication)

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, or similar HR operations role
• Hands-on experience with new-hire processing: onboarding forms, background checks, and drug screening workflows
• Strong attention to detail and comfort managing multiple open cases at once
• Clear written communication with candidates and internal partners
• Proficiency with an ATS and basic HRIS or spreadsheet tracking
• Ability to handle confidential candidate and employee information appropriately
