What they need
American Boiler is seeking a motivated, creative, and results-driven Talent Acquisition Specialist to identify and attract qualified tradespeople across our growing mechanical company. A significant focus of this role will be proactive candidate sourcing and developing creative, nontraditional recruiting strategies to reach experienced welders, pipefitters, boiler service technicians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and other skilled trades professionals. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will also support hiring for administrative, accounting, project management, estimating, sales, and leadership positions.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, persistent, and willing to go beyond traditional job postings to engage qualified individuals who may not be actively seeking a new opportunity.
Candidate Sourcing & Recruiting

- Manage recruiting efforts for administrative, accounting, project management, estimating, sales, management, and other professional positions.
- Develop creative and nontraditional recruiting strategies that extend beyond online job postings.
- Build relationships with welders, pipefitters, boiler technicians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, and other mechanical trades professionals.

- Develop relationships with colleges, universities, professional organizations, and other sources of professional talent.
- Visit trade schools, welding programs, technical colleges, apprenticeship programs, and industry events.
- Develop referral relationships with instructors, vendors, industry professionals, and community contacts.
- Research local labor markets and discover new channels to reach experienced tradespeople.
- Build and maintain qualified candidate pipelines for current and future openings.
- Develop creative employee referral initiatives and grassroots recruiting efforts.
Recruiting & Hiring
- Partner with branch managers and department leaders to understand staffing needs and technical qualifications.
- Conduct initial candidate screenings to evaluate experience, skills, and overall fit.
- Coordinate interviews and maintain consistent communication with candidates and hiring managers.
- Build ongoing relationships with potential candidates for future opportunities.
- Assist with recruiting advertisements, job postings, and recruiting events.
- Track sourcing activities, candidate pipelines, and hiring results.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in recruiting, skilled trades, construction, mechanical contracting, or a related industry preferred.
- Knowledge of welding, pipefitting, HVAC, plumbing, boiler service, or industrial maintenance roles is a plus.
- Strong networking, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively find and engage candidates.
- Creative, persistent, outgoing, and comfortable initiating conversations with new people.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage priorities across multiple locations.
