Tap Instructor

Looking for the right candidate who has strong tap dance training, teaching experience, and the ability to create engaging, age-appropriate classes for dancers of varying skill levels. We are looking for someone who understands that teaching dance is about more than steps and choreography—it is about building confidence, encouraging perseverance, and inspiring children to believe in themselves.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching tap dance, preferably to children.
• Strong tap technique, rhythm, musicality, and knowledge of tap fundamentals.
• Ability to teach dancers from beginner through intermediate levels, with advanced-level experience a plus.
• A genuine love for God and a willingness to support DanzStar’s Christian, faith-centered mission.
• A passion for working with children and helping them develop both as dancers and individuals.
• Strong communication, leadership, patience, and classroom management skills.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and committed to professional growth.
• Ability to motivate students while maintaining high standards for technique and classroom behavior.

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging, structured tap dance classes for children at various ages and skill levels.
• Develop dancers’ rhythm, musicality, coordination, timing, footwork, technique, and performance quality.
• Create age-appropriate lesson plans that promote steady growth and skill development.
• Build dancers’ confidence through positive reinforcement, constructive corrections, and encouragement.
• Maintain a safe, organized, respectful, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Prepare dancers for performances, showcases, and other studio events as needed.
• Demonstrate professionalism, patience, consistency, and strong classroom management.
• Communicate effectively with studio leadership, parents, and dancers.
• Encourage discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and a positive attitude.
• Support DanzStar’s faith-based mission and help foster an environment where children feel valued, supported, and inspired to grow.

Schedule

• Part-Time
• Weekends as needed for competitions and special events

Education & Experience

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dance or related field preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
