Tasting Room Associate

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Weekend Tasting Room Associate to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our cider, wine, and cocktail service environment. The Tasting Room Associate is responsible for supporting beverage preparation and handling, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting in various back-of-house operations.

Qualified candidates must have a passion for spirits, wine and cider and possess outstanding customer service skills, and the willingness to be a member of a dynamic working environment. Previous knowledge is not necessary, but working hard and positive, is. Must be able to multi-task, be a team player, and able to work at least 3 weekend days a month.

What we expect from you:

• Provide an exceptional and memorable experience for each guest by understanding and confidently articulating Mt Defiance’s portfolio of spirits, cider and wine
• Ensure consistent standards of presentation at every point in the guest experience
• Engage with each customer to identify and tailor the experience to their interests
• Effectively communicate with a professional and welcoming manner
• Prepare the tasting room for opening and closing
• Represent Mt Defiance at offsite functions as needed
• Operate POS system and maintain accuracy in all transactions
• Sales-oriented team player
• Open, honest and friendly with colleagues, customers, peers and managers
• Positive, adaptable, flexible
• Knowledge and sales experience in a distillery or winery environment preferred
• Passion for alcohol and food required
• Cleaning, glass washing/polishing, inventory stocking, and other tasks as needed
• Busing tables, trash collection
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends, some holidays and evenings
• Assist with special events as needed
• Physical requirements: able to lift 50 lbs., be over 21 years old, able to stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 6+ hours at a time)

Starting Pay: $13 an hour + tips

Job Type: Part-time
