Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Collection Specialist to join our TATA Collection team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and recovering outstanding debts while maintaining positive relationships with customers. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong understanding of collection processes and regulations. The Collection Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of the organization by minimizing bad debt and optimizing cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to follow up on overdue payments and resolve outstanding balances.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers, ensuring terms are mutually agreeable and adhere to company policies.
• Educate customers on their account status, payment options, and company collection procedures.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities, communications, and payment arrangements in the collection system.
• Identify and escalate complex collection issues or disputes to management for resolution.
• Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and relevant legal regulations (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - FDCPA, local consumer protection laws).
• Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and sales, to resolve billing discrepancies and customer complaints that impact collections.
• Analyze customer accounts to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate collection strategies.
• Process payments and update customer accounts promptly and accurately.
• Achieve individual and team collection targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Provide exceptional customer service while handling sensitive financial conversations with empathy and professionalism.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on collection activities, aging accounts, and recovery rates.
