Duties

• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns using advanced tax preparation software.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws by staying current on updates and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial documents and clarify their tax situations.
• Analyze financial data using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial tools to support accurate reporting.
• Assist in tax planning strategies by applying knowledge of tax law and financial concepts to optimize client outcomes.
• Support client acquisition efforts through marketing initiatives and providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain organized records of all tax documents, reports, and correspondence for audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting or finance, with a strong understanding of tax preparation and reporting processes.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and other financial management tools.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws related to individual, corporate, and partnership taxes.
• Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing).
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration within the team.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills combined with technical accounting expertise; prior experience in public accounting is a plus.

Important: These are not back-office tax preparation positions. Candidates must be comfortable with client-facing activities, including welcome calls, proactive follow-ups, tax return review discussions, final outcome delivery, written handoffs, and reviewing returns prepared by other tax professionals. Strong communication and customer service skills are required.

Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
