Tax Associate

Our client is an established public accounting firm seeking a Tax Associate to join their growing team. This individual will be responsible for preparing tax returns, organizing client financial information, and supporting tax compliance activities while continuing to develop their technical tax knowledge and skills.

This is a great opportunity for an early-career tax professional looking to build on their public accounting experience, gain hands-on exposure to tax preparation, and grow into more complex tax work and eventual tax return review responsibilities!

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns in accordance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Gather, organize, and enter client financial information into tax preparation software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Review supporting documentation, identify discrepancies, and assist with resolving tax preparation questions.
• Support tax compliance activities, including maintaining client records, preparing workpapers, and meeting filing deadlines.
• Collaborate with senior accountants and tax leadership to address client needs and develop technical tax knowledge.
• Take on increasingly complex tax preparation responsibilities with opportunities to progress into tax return review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of tax experience, including completion of at least one tax busy season.
• Hands-on experience with tax preparation software, data entry, and preparation of tax returns.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and willingness to learn and grow within a public accounting environment.
