Tax Preparer

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax regulations and procedures, as well as excellent customer service skills. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for assisting clients with their tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws. This role requires strong mathematical skills and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Review financial records, including income statements and documentation of expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while providing accurate calculations.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information and explain tax-related matters.
• Utilize accounting software to input data accurately and efficiently.
• Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and potential deductions.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information throughout the preparation process.
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation that may affect client returns.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with accounting software is preferred.
• Familiarity with Proseries tax software is preferred.
• Previous experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is a plus.
• Strong math skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and procedures is essential.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks.
• Experience in financial sales or market analysis is beneficial but not required.
