Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering instruction across subjects such as literacy, math, and early childhood education, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards including the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
• Assist with classroom management by supervising children during activities, transitions, and breaks to promote safety and positive behavior.
• Provide individualized support to students with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and assistance.
• Help maintain a well-organized classroom environment by preparing materials, proofreading educational resources, and managing supplies.
• Foster effective communication with parents and guardians through updates on student progress and behavior, promoting strong home-school partnerships.
• Utilize computers and educational technologies to enhance learning experiences and support instructional activities.
• Support teachers in implementing behavior management strategies and classroom behavior protocols to create a respectful and productive atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, special education practices, and classroom behavior management techniques.
• Familiarity with educational compliance regulations such as ESSA and understanding of instructional standards for early childhood education.
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and students effectively.
• Ability to supervise children safely while engaging them in meaningful learning activities.
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain these certifications is appreciated.
• Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or special needs, including experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
• Proficiency with computers and educational technologies to support classroom instruction.
