Teacher Aide / Learning Support Team

Applications are invited for a Teacher Aide to join our Learning Support team to support a non-verbal Year 12 student who requires considerable care and support while in the school setting.  This position is for approximately 20 hours per week, between 8.20am and 3.10pm, 3 days per week during term time.

Remuneration will be a combination of ACC Funding (15 hours @ $31.66 per hour) and Grade B of the Support Staff Collective Agreement (5 hours @ $25-28 per hour depending on experience).  This will be discussed fully with candidates who are successful in gaining an interview.

We seek an observant, calm, confident and caring person, who is willing to work as part of a team.  Experience in working with young people with very high physical care needs would be an advantage.  Duties will include driving a mobility van, hoisting, peg feeding and toileting. Training will be provided.

We are seeking an enthusiastic team player with the following attributes:

• Works well both independently and as part of a team
• Full, clean driver’s licence is essential.
• Ability to liaise with family on a daily basis.
