Teacher Assistant (ครูผู้ช่วย)

Responsibilities and Duties:

The main role of the assistant teacher is to work with one classroom teacher to deliver the highest possible level of education to the class. The TA is valued for their input and joint planning with the teacher as well as being important for the pastoral welfare of the class.

• Gate duty; to welcome and greet parents/students at the start of the days assigned
• Plan activities inside and/or outside in conjunction with Lead Teacher
• Prepare activities and resources for inside and outside in conjunction with Lead Teacher
• Set up resources daily
• Clean and tidy classroom and outside learning areas
• Translate from English to Thai and Thai to English to assist teachers, students and parents in teaching and learning
• Support Lead Teacher with behavioural and classroom management
• Support pupils during circle time
• Support groups or individuals with the learning
• Observe pupils to support their learning
• Be a role model for the children in the values of kindness, good manners and wisdom, work ethic and high standards.
• Take photos of activities for Tapestry and/or displays
• Interact with pupils during activities
• Support pupils during snack and lunch time, encouraging new food tastes, and independency
• Attend phase meetings, staff meetings and training sessions
• Responsible for at least one of school events as a team with other teachers
• Support a weekly Extra Curricular club
• Take responsibility for the hygiene and safety of students within their care
• Assist Lead Teachers with providing directions for Nannies or Maids if required
• Purchase resources if urgent need arises
• Support classes across the school
• Support and attend special activities in school
• Be dedicated to pastoral care for all students in the school.
• Contribute to the development of the whole school

Qualities, Qualifications and Skills Essential:

• Bachelor's degree in education
• Previous experience in working with children
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Computer literate
• Experience in similar position in an international school is an advantage
• The ability to work well as part of a team.
• Friendly, kind, professional and approachable manner with colleagues, students and parents.
• Hardworking and highly responsible
• Ability to work as a part of a team
• Passionate in providing care and education for young children
