Teacher Assistant

Duties

• Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities
• Provide physical assistance and supervision for students with special needs during classroom activities, transitions, and outings
• Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored support plans
• Manage classroom behavior by applying positive reinforcement techniques and behavioral disorder support strategies
• Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and supportive environment for all students

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in early childhood or classroom settings preferred
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
• Familiarity with special education laws such as IEP processes and behavior management for students with disabilities
• Strong communication and writing skills to document student progress and collaborate effectively with team members
• Ability to handle physical tasks related to childcare and supporting students with special needs confidently
