Job Description: Extended Care Director and Teacher Assistant

Lake Norman Christian School is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Teacher Assistant. This role combines the responsibilities of overseeing the extended care program and providing support as a teacher assistant during the school day. This is a full-time position with working hours from 7:30AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

1. Teacher Assistant Duties:

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student learning and assist with instructional activities throughout the school day.

• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students as needed, promoting a positive learning environment.

• Help with classroom management, including maintaining order and reinforcing behavioral expectations.

• Assist in preparing materials, organizing classroom resources, and maintaining a tidy learning environment.

Qualifications:

-A passion for working with children and creating a supportive and engaging environment.

• Previous experience in a similar role, such as working in a childcare program or school setting, is preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual students and the overall program.

• A commitment to upholding the values and mission of Lake Norman Christian School. Employees must sign a Christian statement of faith.
