Teacher Assistant

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Assistant to support classroom instruction and student development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, students, and other educational professionals to create a positive learning environment. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supporting students with behavioral challenges, and ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information. The Teacher Assistant plays a vital part in fostering an inclusive and supportive educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities to ensure effective student engagement.
• Support students with behavioral disorders by applying appropriate strategies and interventions to promote positive behavior.
• Collaborate with other educational professionals, including special educators and counselors, to develop and execute individualized support plans for students.
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students who need additional help with their learning tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive student information and adhere to privacy policies.
• Demonstrate strong writing skills when documenting student progress, behavior reports, or communication with staff and parents.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning for all students.

Requirements

• Proven writing skills suitable for documenting student progress and communicating effectively with staff and parents.
• Experience or training in supporting students with behavioral disorders is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and other staff members to support student needs.
• Strong understanding of confidentiality protocols related to student information.
• Compassionate attitude with patience and adaptability in managing diverse classroom situations.
• Prior experience working in educational settings or supporting students is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
