Teacher Assistant

Overview

Lynn Public Schools is looking for a dependable and supportive Teacher Assistant to work alongside teachers and school staff in helping students stay engaged, organized, and successful throughout the school day.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys working with students, communicates well, and can balance day-to-day classroom support with administrative and student-related tasks. The position may include a combination of on-site school support and approved work completed remotely, depending on school and student needs.

What You'll Do

• Support teachers with daily classroom activities and student needs
• Help students stay focused and participate in classroom assignments
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support when requested by the teacher
• Assist with preparing classroom materials, activities, and learning resources
• Assist students with staying on track with assignments and routines
• Help with basic student records, classroom documentation, and other administrative tasks

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience working with children, students, families, or in an educational setting is helpful
• Good communication and listening skills
• Comfortable working with students from different backgrounds and learning needs
• Reliable, patient, and able to work well as part of a school team
• Comfortable using email, online systems, and basic computer applications
• Able to follow directions while also taking initiative when appropriate
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling student information

Nice to Have

• Experience as a teacher assistant, classroom aide, tutor, childcare worker, or youth program staff member
• Experience supporting students with different learning styles or needs

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

Work arrangement: Hybrid. On-site work will be required when classroom, student, school, or staff needs call for it. Remote work will be limited to duties that can reasonably be completed away from the school.

Pay: $24.37 - $29.35 per hour
