Teacher Assistant

Job Overview

Duties

• Provide 100% interaction with and attention to children while providing a range of stimulating activities which promote all areas of learning.
• Provide and lead instruction in both classroom and outside learning environments, utilizing curriculum provided by Archild.
• Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
• Support children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special education requirements
• Help manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
• Prepare classroom materials and set up learning activities that promote hands-on engagement and exploration
• Foster a safe and nurturing environment by practicing classroom management best practices and ensuring adherence to safety protocols

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Familiarity with special education techniques, behavior management strategies, and curriculum development
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics while maintaining a positive atmosphere

Relevant certifications in childcare, early childhood education, or special education are advantageous. Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
