Part-Time Teaching Assistant / Grader — Kumon of Fulshear

Kumon of Fulshear is looking for a patient, dependable, and detail-oriented Teaching Assistant to join our team! This position involves supporting children in math and reading, grading assignments, and helping keep our classroom organized and running smoothly.

We are seeking someone who enjoys working with children and helping them develop confidence, strong study habits, and independent learning skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with math and reading assignments following the Kumon Method and instructor’s guidance.
• Work with young learners on counting, number recognition, letter sounds, and beginning reading.
• Listen to students read aloud and provide support as directed.
• Encourage students to stay focused, follow classroom routines, and work independently.
• Accurately grade and record classwork, homework, and corrections using answer keys.
• Communicate student progress, observations, and concerns to the instructor.
• Prepare student folders and homework for upcoming classes.
• Keep classroom materials organized and assist with light cleaning.
• Follow center procedures and student safety policies.

Qualifications

• Strong math, reading, and communication skills.
• Patient, positive, and comfortable working with young children.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Able to follow directions, apply feedback, and work well with a team.
• Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a busy classroom.
• Teaching, tutoring, childcare, or previous Kumon experience is helpful but not required.

Training will be provided.

Schedule

Afternoon shifts Monday through Thursday:

Assigned workdays and weekly hours will depend on availability and center needs. Applicants must be able to consistently attend their assigned shifts. Long-term, year-round availability is preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required.
