Teacher Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities, lesson implementation, and classroom management strategies.
• Provide physical assistance and behavioral support to students with disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities.
• Support students with special education needs by implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
• Help create a positive classroom environment through behavior management techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop tailored curriculum development plans that meet each student’s unique needs.
• Support early childhood education initiatives by assisting with toddler care, preschool activities, literacy education, basic math skills, and classroom support in special education settings.
• Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a respectful and supportive atmosphere for students and staff alike.

Skills

• Experience working with children, especially in early childhood or preschool environments.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques.
• Familiarity with special education practices, including behavior management for students with behavioral disorders or autism spectrum disorders.
• Ability to assist with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and math instruction tailored to diverse learners.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, therapists, parents, and other stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining professionalism in a private school or similar setting.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
