Teacher Assistant

Role Description The Teacher Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls area. This position supports classroom teachers in delivering instruction, facilitating small group and one-on-one learning, and reinforcing key concepts across subjects, including mathematics and literacy. Daily responsibilities include helping prepare instructional materials, assisting with classroom management, supervising students during transitions and activities, and supporting a safe, respectful learning environment. The Teacher Assistant also collaborates with teachers and staff to monitor student progress, provide feedback, and participate in school events and professional development as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to support Assistant Teaching and Education activities, including reinforcing lesson plans and helping deliver classroom instruction.
• Strong Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and respectfully with students, teachers, families, and colleagues.
• Comfort with Mathematics and basic academic subjects, with the ability to help students practice skills and complete assignments.
• Experience Working With Children in educational or youth-focused settings, demonstrating patience, empathy, and positive behavior support.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to follow school policies, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to an inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment.
• Strong organizational skills, reliability, and willingness to learn and engage in ongoing professional development.
