Teacher Assistant-Substitute

Do you enjoy working with young children and want a flexible position where you can make a difference? Montessori Children’s House (MCH) of Blue Bell is looking for a dependable and caring Substitute Teacher to provide classroom support on an as-needed basis.

MCH provides a warm, supportive learning environment based on the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. Montessori experience is welcome, but not required.

Position Details

Position: As-Needed Substitute Teacher
Location: Montessori Children’s House, Blue Bell, PA
Schedule: As needed, based on classroom staffing needs

What You’ll Do

As a Substitute Teacher, you’ll step in to support our classrooms when needed. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting teachers with daily classroom activities and routines
• Engaging with children in a positive, caring, and age-appropriate way
• Assisting with activities, snack time, transitions, and classroom organization
• Encouraging children’s independence, curiosity, and social-emotional development
• Helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and nurturing classroom environment

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• At least 2 years of experience working with young children in early childhood education, childcare, or a related setting
• Dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in different classrooms as needed
• A positive and caring approach to working with children
• Montessori experience is a plus, but not required

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

• Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
