Job type: Permanent, Full-time.

Normal Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00. (40 hours a week).

About the role

As a Teacher at The Mulberry Bush School, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the lives of children who have experienced trauma, helping them discover a love of learning and  play to build a brighter future. You’ll be responsible for planning, teaching and assessing a small class of up to eight children, working closely with your teaching team and the Education Management Team to create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment.

This is a role where education and therapeutic care come together. You’ll be part of a wider multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to meet each child’s individual needs and support their emotional wellbeing as well as their learning. If you’re looking to do meaningful work and truly make a difference, this is your chance to be a part of an extraordinary story.

We’ll look to you to

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons, group activities and individual interventions tailored to each child’s needs
  • Lead and support your classroom team, including Teaching Assistants, to create a positive and effective learning environment
  • Assess, record and report on pupil progress, supporting each child’s development and wellbeing
  • Create a safe, structured and stimulating classroom where children feel secure and ready to learn
  • Work closely with colleagues across education and therapy teams to support each child holistically
  • Take part in meetings, reviews and supervision, contributing to shared learning and continuous improvement
  • Reflect on and develop your own teaching practice to maintain high standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and take on subject leadership responsibilities
  • Support whole school activities, events and trips as part of the wider community
  • Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children

We’ll care for you too

You’re not just part of a team, you’re part of our family. Support echoes through every part of our community, and your colleagues are always here to lend a hand or share a smile. We also offer the following benefits to make your journey with us even more rewarding:

  • Teachers pension
  • A comprehensive range of informal and formal wellbeing support.
  • Enhanced parental leave benefits.
  • Subsidised meals.

About you

You’re an experienced and thoughtful teacher who understands that every child’s journey is different. You bring patience, resilience and good judgment, and you’re able to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. You build strong relationships with children and colleagues, communicate clearly, and reflect on your practice to keep improving.

You’ll also bring:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching primary-aged children, ideally with at least three years’ experience
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum (KS1 and KS2)
  • The ability to use a range of teaching and learning strategies to support different needs
  • Experience of assessment for learning, pupil progress tracking and target setting
  • Confidence using ICT to support learning
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Evidence of continued professional development or a willingness to keep learning
